William Ensley “Bill” Buchanan

William Ensley “Bill” Buchanan, age 62, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed peaceably into the arms of Jesus at home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, May 4, 2020.

He was born October 13, 1957 in Oak Creek, Colorado the son of Elmer and Gretta (Ensley) Buchanan. In August, 1977 he was united in marriage to Sheri Lynn Goering.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Elmer “Bucky” Buchanan, III.

Surviving are his wife, Sheri; one son, Justin Scott Buchanan and his wife Kelly of Shell Knob, Missouri; two sisters, Carol Baxter of Sandwich, Illinois and Sandi Rosenberger and her husband Robert “Bob” of Sandwich, Illinois; two brother, Doug Buchanan and Dino of Oak Lawn, Illinois and Raymond Buchanan and his wife Ellen of Newark, Illinois; five grandchildren, Andrew Albertson, Bailey Albertson, Levi Albertson, Kaitlyn Buchanan and William Buchanan and several very special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In later years Bill and his family moved to Illinois where he attended Newark High School. He followed his dad and became a journeyman lineman I.B.E.W. Bill and Sheri moved to Shell Knob in 2001 so he could do what he loved most, FISH, FISH, FISH! He loved Table Rock Lake and was a lifetime member of B.A.S.S. He was a member of Lakeside Christian Church in Shell Knob. When he wasn’t fishing, he enjoyed collecting guns and coins. More than anything he loved his grandkids and spending time with them, always wanting to make people smile and encourage them.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Lakeside Christian Church in Shell Knob under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. Burial will be at Lake Park Memorial Gardens in Shell Knob.
