William Jacob “Bill” Gripka
William Jacob “Bill” Gripka, age 84, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville.
He was born October 9, 1935 in Ritchey, Missouri the son of Tony and Stella (Clapper) Gripka. On November 11, 1960 he was united in marriage to Hazel Fetters, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Rhonda Harris and her husband Rick of Purdy, Missouri and Regina Pry and her husband Mark of Cassville, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Netta Ellis and her husband Jerry of Seligman, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Mindi Gates and her husband Justin, Tyler Gripka and his wife Anya, Jessie Rambo and her husband Josh, Jake Harris, Andy Harris and his wife Kaylynn, Kindra Eden and her husband Kelbe, Zach Pry and his wife Krista, Emily Pry and Brady Pry; ten great-grandchildren with two on the way; one sister, Betty Terry and her husband Donnie of Purdy, Missouri and two brothers, Anthony Gripka of Monett, Missouri and Charles Gripka of Springfield, Missouri.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Rob Gripka and three sisters, Mary Helen Washick, Anna Velten and Clara Staponski.
Bill received his education at Pierce City, Missouri. Many years he was employed at Jumping Jacks and then Justin Boot. For twelve years he served in the United States National Guard. He was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville where he served as a Deacon and was also a member of the Cassville Golf Course. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and he loved his garden.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Danny Heupel will conduct the services. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time Monday at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
