William “Ted” Leatherman
William “Ted” Leatherman, age 73, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away April 22, 2021, in Harrison, Arkansas. He entered this life November 5, 1947, in Harrison, Arkansas, the son of Lawrence and Helen (Briley) Leatherman. His parents and brother-in-law, Richard Flippo have preceded him in death. He was joined in marriage March 1, 1994, to Carol Kendall.
Ted proudly served our country in the United States Navy and earned his way up to Machinist Mate 3. He was an American Legion member and a member of the St Paul’s United Methodist Church. Ted’s main community service was through the Elk’s Lodge #2311 in Harrison where he held many offices including the Grand Lodge Officer where he supported many fund raisers and activities that support veterans, children, and community. His hobbies included bowling, hunting, fishing, watching old westerns, and doing community service. Known as Mr. Ted, he enjoyed his time as a custodian in the Harrison Middle School. He has influenced many lives and given lots of advice
through the years. Sharing of his wisdom and giving of his time has been his legacy. He will be greatly missed.
Ted is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carol Leatherman; sister, Anna Flippo of Omaha, Arkansas; two daughters: Nita Hoppis of Oklahoma, and Serina Mansfield of Omaha, Arkansas; son, Billy Leatherman of Little Rock, Arkansas; two stepsons: Paul (Melissa) Harp of Marble Falls, Arkansas, and Franklin (Uriel) Harp of Marble Falls, Arkansas.
A celebration of life will be from 2-6 p.m., May 2, 2021, at the Elk’s Lodge in Harrison, Arkansas with everyone welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Elk’s Lodge #2311, PO Box 2495, Harrison, Arkansas 72602. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
