William “Ward” Darby

William “Ward” Darby, age 79, of Branson, Missouri, passed away, peacefully at his home Thursday, November 28, 2019. He entered this life December 26, 1939, in Excelsior, West Virginia, the son of Earl and Ruth (Koger) Darby. He was joined in marriage June 14, 2005, to Marcella Johnson. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
Being a musician at heart, Ward has played many gigs over the years. He was with the Jennifer in the Morning Show until it closed in Branson. Ward was a singer, songwriter, and musician who was well known throughout the world especially in the Branson - Springfield area. If you search for him on the computer, many songs and celebrities come with his name. One thing is for sure, he loved his family and many memories have been created over the years that will be bringing smiles to many faces. He will be greatly missed.
Ward is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brandon Darby; and two of his sons-in-law: Chuck Gaines and Bob Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Marcella Darby; daughter, Deborah Moore of Pell City, Alabama; daughter, Lisa Gould of Pell City, Alabama; son, Ward Darby Jr. (Wendy) of Cullman, Alabama; son, Bradley Darby (Sandi Lynn) of Salem, Oregon; son, John Darby of Cullman, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Loretta Darby; grandchildren: Matthew (Tia), Stephan (Kristen), Nick (Alisha), Tyler (Gloria), Jeremy, and Heather; great-grandchildren: Atticus, Nixon, Asher, Ever, Adriana, Kinzie, and Elora; and many extended family.
